Will my Door Knocker tarnish or have to be regularly polished?

Your Door Knocker has been coated with a baked catalyzed polyurethane, similar to the clear top coat on an automobile. Occasionally washing your Door Knocker using a sponge with water and a mild soap will help to maintain its vibrant shine. Coating your Door Knocker with a paste wax will also greatly extend the life of the finish. Do not use a brass cleaner or an abrasive pad; this will damage the clear coating and the original polished finish.

Will my Door Knocker cover the holes already drilled in my door?

The screws of each Michael Healy Door Knocker are spaced differently. Please check our online catalog for exact measurements in order to find the right one for you.

Will I have to drill through my entire door to install my Door Knocker?

No. Each Door Knocker comes with two machine screws that are designed for surface mounting on both metal and wood doors. The only exceptions are the Nantucket Basket, the Ring, the Imperial, the Tratidional Urn, the Victorian Urn, and the Doctor Door Knockers. The mounting of these designs requires that holes be drilled completely through the door.

Michael offers a 30 day return or exchange policy for orders placed on our website. Products must be in the original box and in new condition. The return postage/shipping is the responsibility of the customer and will not be refunded. Any refunds will be credited to the card that was originally used to purchase the item.

Return or Exhange Process

Step 1 - Acquire authorization
To begin the return or exchange process, please call 1-800-995-0988 Monday - Friday 9:00am-5:00pm EST and one of our trained customer service representatives will provide you with a return authorization number and the address your item should be shipped to.

Step 2 - Package and ship the product being returned
Package the item in a suitable box and include all of the original packing materials and hardware. Please write your return authorization number on the outside of the box and make sure to insure the package for the full value of the product.

Step 3 - Inspection and refund or exhange
Refunds and exchanges are processed only after has inspected the returned item and found it to be in new condition. Refunds and exchanges will not be provided for damaged items. If you are exchanging an item for an item of differing value the original credit card used will be refunded or charged the difference between the original price and the new price.

NOTE: Refunds and Exchanges will not be provided on items that are returned without a prior return authorization or are returned in damaged condition.
