The Sun Face Door Knocker is sand-cast in solid bronze. The oiled bronze finish is attained by successively dipping raw bronze castings into a patina solution and then buffing them to a satin finish. With the repetition of this process Michael creates the rich, dark multi-tone finish of his Oiled Bronze. Then finished with a patina process to give the Sun Face a warm antique finish. This Door Knocker is finished with a protective coating to maintain it's beauty for years to come. Your Oiled Bronze Sun Face Door Knocker was designed by Michael Healy, an accomplished Rhode Island artisan. While traveling in Europe, Michael was impressed by the rich variety of sculpted architectural detail. One such detail he encountered in the Alps was the Sun Face. Michael made a sketch of this happy image which years later became the subject for one of his unique Door Knockers.
